Default 7mgte or 1jzgte parts

I've just bought a 91 toyota supra turbo and was just wondering if I should keep this 7mgte motor or get the 1jzgte motor. And for either motor what would I need to hit 500 rwhp. I'm new to the supra scene so any info on parts that I need would be great.

if you want those numbers
you need to go with a 1jz cuz youre gonna have to deal with the head gasket problems with the 7mgte

now, i got a proposal which will make us both happy
when will you be planning to do the swap?
cuz i am looking to buy a 7mgte engine right now
so that way i can give you a jumpstart on ur funds

jus think about it then holla at me

I'm sick and tired of people whining about the 7m's headgasket. If you can't afford to fix the problem (very easy) then you can't afford what it will take to reach 500whp and not blow the shit up. 7m's a great motor so long as its not some cheap ass mother fucker turning up the boost on a stock headgasket with 130,000miles. It's people like these that will tell you to just swap in a 1j and they are an unreliable source of info if you ask me.

well i've been doing some research and people are saying that it is very easy for the 7mgte to do 400 rwhp. I'd be fine with that, so I'm not to sure with swapping anymore. Now i'm just trying to figure out how to get to 400 rwhp. Do all I have to do is upgrade my turbo and get a 3inch downpipe and exhaust and just up the boost up to 20psi. Or will the internals not beable to handle that 20psi. Or I guess what i'm trying to say is what parts will I need to reach 400rwhp.

well i dont know about 400 but... first off... id put a K&N air filter ( very cheap, payed 220 CDN for mine ) then get a walbro 255 fuel pump which is 105 on ebay brand new... also... u might want to get your hg torqued but make sure the bolts can handle it and dont snap in 2... umm the 550 stock injectors should be fine... but also... you need a 3" full turbo back exhaust system... also... might wanna get your turbo ported... for more air flow at the waiste gate...umm... all i can think of right now just got off midnight shift tired as hell... ttyl sorry if this doesnt help any, but also... on the 20psi comment u better make dam sure the head gasket can get torqued or it will just blow anyways... 20 is a big number to aim for right away i'd try 15-16 at first... but u may need to upgrade the turbo, a T04p or a T70 would do a nice job... ttyl sleep time

oh alright I see, yea that helped out alot. I guess the head gasket is a big thing, so i'll take care of that first and i'm taking it that i'm going to need new head bolts so that they don't break umm oh and what should I be torquing it down to so that the head gasket will be safe.
