3.0T Vs 2.5Bi-T
Well, I just recently saw a 2.5 Bi-Turbo MKIII, and I have a 3.0T which has less HP. I was wondering, cause I'm a noob on turbo's... Can it be done to set-up a bi-Turbo for my own MKIII? And what tweaks need to be done?

on a few post before
sumbody said that sumone had a custom turbo downpipe to accomodate two turbos im guessing you have to change the compression rate maybe bigger injectors? not sure tho but dont try any of these upgrades unless you have the help of a dyno dont wanna pay for a custom job jus to ruin you engine |
It would be cheaper to just upgrade the single turbo you already have.
|
money isn't an issue, but which one is more powerful in the end?
|
A big single turbo is usually faster in the end. Thats y most of the MKIV guys usually go single.
|
question about twins
are the inline turbos the same size? if not which one is bigger the front or back? shouldnt they make a small and a big one and does any company started making those variable turbos bmw has developed that technology it a big turbo with movable fins around the turbines which closes in low speeds/rpm and opens in high speeds/rpm so in low speeds it can spool up quickly without lag and in high speeds it wont choke on exhaust |
The front turbo is for the first 3 cylinders and the rear turbo for the last 3 so they are the same size.

yeah standard CT26's... that's why I wondered... cause I can get performance parts very easily through a friend that has a sponsored deal. So I was kinda wondering to get 2 big turbo's in for max performance. Dunno if it would do any good though...

the big question with variable turbos is:
how do you control the fin when opening and closing? is it electronically controlled? or by just the mass of air coming in into the turbo? |
maybe we need the exact specs on the variable twin system first. Next step would be getting a downpipe that can handle the pressure level and fittings for the supra. And then we could see what turbo's we can replace variable ones by. Perhaps with electronic tweaks, getting 2 big turbo's in...

two big turbo's is good for the long run but your car will lag off the line like a mother.... it wont feel like ur single right now... but the long run its better... also... im sure the 550 stock injectors could handle the job but u might wanna try 1 step higher.. go 750 or so. ... also u need to upgrade your fuel pump
|
I heard about putting 750cc injectors aswell. But if you upgrade the injectors and fuel pump and with other "tiny" tweaks... Could it handle double heavy turbo's in your opinion?
|
750's will for sure... they can get rather pricey though
