Noooo

omfg... ok last night, racing a buddy down an abandoned highway close to my house... and anyways i get my car to 255-260kms/h and everything is fine... we drive around for 15 mins and stop off at a wendys for a frosty and chill... while im sitting in the drivethrough i check my gauges and notice that my thermast is sitting on H i was like oh fuck.... cuz i had just looked 2 minutes before and it was fine.... so i pull my car over in the parking lot and let her cool down... pop the hood make sure everything was fine... it was so i relaxed about 45 mins with a buddy and then went to start her... and to my surprise.... the car wont start over... it tries but it wont. i get out pop the hood again check the overflow can ... which was full the first time i looked and it was BONE DRY! look under the car and theres a huge puddle and now i dont know what to do... the rad is gone it looks like because that was also topped up last week and now is empty also but that wouldnt stop the car from turning on ... can anyone help me and my poor 89 turbo supra thats been sitting in a parking lot since last night!

its not a BHG because theres no milky oil or sweet smell from the exhaust, so i really have no clue, can anyone help me

Could be a hole in the radiator or a bad water pump. But some water into the radiator and see if it leaks out.

sharkn 07-23-2006 09:30 PM

fill the radiator, start the car, leave the hose in the radiator, find water

In some cases the oil doesn't show up milky until later mine did that at least. But from the sounds of it it sounds like a BHG.

dude deff check ur water pumped and radiator same thign happened to me kinda. but mine started. those might be damaged tho. as for the not starting maybe anti freeze got on sumthing electrical? i have no idea. good luxk with it tho.

It could be a BHG, cause getting water in your cylinders would make the radiator be lower and stop your motor from turning over. And normally the catch can will go down but not be empty, Its there to make up from expansion and contraction(heating and cooling). But i wouldnt quite say full to empty...lol. Id say do not try to drive your car, Pull the spark plugs out and try to turn it over. If it does, look for water. Or stick a paper towell in each hole and look for water. Or if it doesnt turn over, Its a power/starter broken issue. But as a general rule, Just because you rule out a problem by way of isolation, Doesnt mean it isnt there. meaning still maybe water in there if it doesnt turn over, Its just not the only thing. just to be safe keep looking once you get it to start. Did you check battery too?

you were kinda pushing your car, maybe a crack on the radiator?
if i was you i wouldnt drive it till i solve this issue ,
cuz for all you know every rev your engine does is only making your problem worst

frostburn 07-24-2006 12:15 PM

well the car wont start atall theres no spark... i put a screwdriver in the plug tried to start her over n no spark wut so ever...! shoot, y me lol this is beyond insanei normally figure out anything... but this could be almost anything... thinkin electrical but could be bhg, engine seized, cracked block from the boosting although i highly doubt it running stock psi... shoot i dont know i just put a K&N performance air filter in the car the day before... and everything looked fine... i dunno :( help me

j3pz 07-24-2006 09:04 PM

if you arent getting any spark then it sounds electrical. does the starter click when you turn the key? if not check the battery, check the lines to the started/battery. you want to check for water in the cylinders and quick cause the antifreeze will eat up the walls.
