looks aight, but i think they'll look better bigger, youll also have a bigger contact patch, with the right set of tires

what do you guys think of these

fronts with 18 x 9 rims
and the rear having 17 x 10

the tires are diffrent too
the front uses lo pro tires
and the rear uses something bigger dunt know the exact size

but what do you guys think of using diffrent size rims, diffrent for the rear so you can still control air pressure

just get both rims in 17, if you have 18 fronts and 17s rears your car is going to look pretty retarted. And what are you going to do with 9 inch wide front wheels? 7 or 8 is fine. Get 9s on the back, good for 275-305s

sure.. 17's are nice.. if you have money for new tires and for the extra inch.. im only 16. then your spedo is gonna be wrong, and more weight.. and ur ride is going to change.. and handling.. and so on, right? besides, i think the 16's actually look pretty big on the supra, and if you lower it and inch or two, it will look great. is there any disadvantage of having chrome rims? rusting or anything? just wondering cuz ive heard different things.

Ugly, especially if you buy 16"ers. Save your money.

lol these are rims that if I ever saw them on a supra, I'd make fun of it.

IF you're going to buy wheels, don't buy the stock size! it's just retarded.
if you want 16's, buy some 91-92 5-spokes, or some FD wheels.

lighter because you race people all the time?
it's not gonna make that much of a difference.

get some GOOD wheels that'll compliment the car, not make it look ricey.

fn01rc comes to mind.

While you're of course entitled to your opinion, remember everyone has their own taste. I dont think they look bad, they arent my taste either, but I sure as hell dont think they look "ricey"

as for buying stock size rims being "retarded" I will totally dissagree with you on that one. While buying bigger wheels and then lower profile tires may be something you think is the only viable option, alot of people (myself included) actually prefer our cars to remain closer to stock appearance, ride, and specs. I run 225-50/r-16's all arround on my eagle alloys, and I got no problems with that. My tire store includes free rotation, balancing, road hazard and flat repair with their tires, and I rotate regularly, so missmatched sizes would not be an option.

Not everyone thinks they have to have a $2000 set of wheels and tires on their Supra's to look nice. Quite honestly I think mine has gone over a line that I dont like, 'cause every Tom, Dick and Harry wants to race me...and I dont race! I build my car to be what I like and want...everybody else can just go play hide and go F**k yourself.

chromes last forever if you take care of it and keep it polished and waxed. And no, your speedometer will not be wrong, Unless you git big ass tires. And generally the tire weighs more than the rim, so the 1 inch bigger will not add weight, it would be less if anything. 2nd, the design of the rim is most likely lighter than the supra wheels. To measure your wheels height, you take the tires size, 205/50 for example. the 50 means its 50% of the width in height. so the tires are 102.5 mm tall. Which is about 4 (25.4mm/inch). So the total height is 4+4+17(25"). The stock tires/wheels are 25.6" tall mathematically. The most accurate way is to just measure them, And apply the percentage as your speedo error. For the given example, it would be 3%. So at 50 actual speed, your speedo would read 51.5. Not much of a difference, which is why most people dont worry about it.
