i used to have an 88 zx auto and hated it so i was going to change swap it to manual and got a quote from a local shop for $1,200 material and labor luckily the auto tranny went out and was to expensive to replace without going over resale on the car so i sold it and got my 87 supra :)

You will need the hydraulics that "push" the system. The Clutch master cyl. and the slave cyl. and all the lines in between. As I understand you do not need to switch the ECU to a manual version, but you may want to swap out the gauge package to a non-auto version to get rid of the now useless ECT, O/D lights.

You are also going to have to cut the shifter hole back about an inch too. The Auto wiring has to be reworked to make the backup lights work along with the park/driving wiring to get it to start. I think the speedo cables work ok but the cruise won't work now with the different pickup mounts. You will need to make a boot cover that goes over the rubber boot to keep the heat out.

I don't think there are any provisions for the clutch pedal enable start switch either. So make sure it is pushed in or in neutral when you start the car. It is a lot of work, but I did it and it worked out pretty good, but I think if I had to do it over again, I would just sell the car and by a manual. The auto is pretty good and it is nice having cruise control.

Good luck
