Difficulty of changing tranny from auto to manual

Hi everyone, i'm from Australia, been reading posts here n there on this forum, and becuase i'm about to buy one, I have a kinda hard situation.

In Australia, or Sydney specifically it isn't that easy to find 3litre turbo Supra's that are manual, if only 1 or 2 in the paper that i see here and there, but there are plenty of 3litre turbo auto supra's, i'm wondering how hard the conversion process would be, to convert from a auto tranny to a manual tranny, obviously there is the physical labour side of things, but apart from that I know when a car is built its designed to accomodate for a manual and an auto in the chassis.

If it isn't wayy impossible or too troublesome to do, i may pick up a auto 3litre turbo, and work my way from there as i'd be able to get my hands on one a lot faster, thanks for replies in advance guys.

Not exactly sure what you are asking...do you mean is it possible? Yep, sure is - many people have done it.

Of course you will need the parts as follows:
(I have even sold the parts that you need for such a conversion, so I know first hand.)

You will need:
R154 or W58 5 speed tranny
bell housing
tranny to engine block 'wings'/braces
shifter
first propeller shaft
clutch pedal
brake pedal (you can't use the wide one that N/A's have)
master cylinder
slave cylinder
clutch fluid reservoir
hard & soft lines from the reservoir to the slave cylinder
clutch
flywheel

Expect to pay about 500 - 600, if you were in the states (not including shipping charges).

It is hard for me to say how hard it will be for you to do it because I don't know how skilled you are with wrenching.
Some say it is pretty easy, but I would not quite say easy.

I took all those parts from a car, but never installed them in a car. heh

Thanks heaps for the info Tony, yeah i just want to know if it can be done, and you have showed me what is needed, which really helps in deciding if i'll get the more available auto 3.0T's and change the tranny setup n everything to Manual.

Appreciate it. :)
