Timing belt...

Whats the easiest way to change the timing belt? Is there a tentioner on there? I busted my knuckle on the cam gear trying to loosen what i thought was the tentioner.

The best way is to loosen the Idle pulley/tensioner bolt. Page EM-22

Couple of tricks

Just follow the TSRM to replace the timing belt. You don't need a puller to get the crankshaft dampener off. You can get the bolt loose by putting a 1/2" drive 19mm socket on it with a long breaker bar.

Place the bar against the frame, or even the ground, then unplug the ignition coil (so it won't start), then hit the key to crank the engine over.

Only a second is all you need. This will loosen the bolt. Remove it.

Use 2 large screwdrivers, or 2 pry bars, and pry on each side of the dampener. I 'walk' it off. They aren't pressed on like chevys and fords.

Cool thanks. I will try it.
