Well, aside from looking around the boards for other similar topics, you could also check here: http://4cefed.com/conversion.html

No - he wants to put a 7M-GTE into a 7M-GE shell :grinking:

yes thank you i want to buy a 7mgte and take out my practically new 7mge then sell both my 7mge's (one with serious rod knock) to buy new parts for my gte

i'm not sure about usdm but from what i can tell in jdm (pretty similar i should imagine) you need to just rewire one plug at the fusebox as they use a different type of plug but wire colours are the same

and do the resistor change in the tacho
i'm sure someone here has a link to that somewhere :)

Kai 05-29-2006 09:30 AM

I know about the tacho - thats covered under the conversion notes page i pasted above - but i thought you had to use the whole 7M-GTE loom because it uses a coil pack and different ignition?

suprra_girl 05-29-2006 10:17 AM

of course hence you need to change the body harness plug as 7mgte harness don't fit 7mge body harness ;)

Kai 05-29-2006 10:50 AM

Damn - now *i'm* confused!! :D

Levi1717 05-29-2006 01:49 PM

wait so what do i need to cahnge on the wiring harness to the body?

suprra_girl 05-30-2006 12:05 AM

on the body harness by the fusebox is a bright yellow plug (pretty sure it's bright yellow) that one is the one you need to rewire as the 7mgte wiring harness has a mustard/dark yellow plug which is a different shape

oh ok i'll check it out later my car is at my dads house something is shorting out so that it is constantly drawing power from the battery.
