Interchangable parts?

Hello everyone I have a 88 toyota surpa turbo and as most of you already know our parts aren't cheap and there isn't any supra's in any local scrap yards so I was wondering if anybody had a list of interchangable parts from other toyota's?.Just for instance I need a fan shroud and a new radiator and some misc hoses.

The supra is a rocket ship, especially the turbo, it has the highest grade technology available at the time crammed into a car that is not very big. Needless to say alot of parts were designed for that car and that car only.

Also, Look for cressidas, They had 7M motors.

As far as i know its just the cressy?

So not even a camry from the same year would have used the same rad or other parts?
Sorry for all the stupid questions but I'm trying to fix up my baby on a tight budget.

Crown

I got my radiator from an 87 Toyota crown which also had the 7M-GE but I don't think the car was available in the USA.

You don't have to have a fan shroud.... There is a thread below that goes more in depth on that topic.

Well, it really all depends on what you mean by usable...how much modification are you willing to do or capable of doing? For a Radiator its all about dimensions and location of inlet/outlet. when it comes time to mount it swapping your mount off an old radiator or fabricating one is always an option.

I once used a radiator out of an old fiat in my 73 Celica. I had to use my brackets, but they could be unsoldered with a propane torch...so like I said, take careful measurements, then go hunting.

As parts become harder to get (I know all about it having had 4 1st gen Celicas) you need to learn to use whats available, or stockpile when you do find a parts car. I found an exact duplicate of my supra down to the body color and interior for $500. Im in the process of stripping every single usable part and putting em in boxes in my attic for just such an occasion.

I disagree..The fan shroud is absolutely needed to make your thermal fan clutch work properly.. With out it, it will not engage/lock the fan clutch to pull the air through the radiator.

It may not be needed when driving, but sitting in traffic on a hot day may cause you to over heat.. These cars do not like it when they over heat...:(
