anyone have HKS SSQV BOV English Instructions? Help!
 

Hey im new to the forums and was just wondering if anyone had the english instructions to the HKS SSQV BOV? I recently bought the one specificically for the mkiii supra with the flange and everything direct but lost the instructions!!! so i have no pictures or instructions how to install it at all.. it came with a package with all the bolts clips etc but i have no idea where to plug what.. if anyone can scan the manual or something i would really appreciate it!! thanks!!!!

Or does anyone know how to adjust it? thats the most importaint thing i need to know so i can at least "tune it"

The big fantasticness of the HKS SSQV blow off valve is it needs no adjustment I thought. It has two chambers, one to blow off little bits of boost, and a second that opens past a certain Charge pressure to dump the big charges.

hks explicitly says, do not adjust the bov as it is set from the factory, the only time you would need to change it is if you have stalling problems at idle

I don't want to disagree with Suzy because I don't have the real HKS ssqv and she has a good point..;)

But on my Monza SSQV (same thing as hks ssqv) just has one adjustment screw for "hard" or "soft" spring preload and from what I understand and read on the instructions it should be adjusted to where there is no compressor surge at low boost levels, So the softer setting will vent pressure sooner than the hard setting..

The design of these SSQV is cool in the way that boost actually helps keep it from leaking unlike other types. So the soft setting should still hold boost fine.

They arn't the same if one is a Monza and the other is a HKS. Thats one of my favorite features of my HKS SSQV, even just crusing around my neighborhood not getting on it, it vents just a smidge and you can hear the whistle like the turbo is saying "c'mon, you know I'm here, just give me a little more exhaust pressure, it'll be fun I promise." LOL, i've got problems.

Part for part they are identical and interchangable.. One is just less expensive version (knock off) of HKS.. Not that that is a good thing for HKS.. I feel bad now LOL Blaightant rippoff...:)

:stickpoke hehe, at least you admitted it. although the construction is similar the HKS doesn't need to be adjusted and the Monza can/does. Just don't mess with the HKS, the only thing smarter than a guy with a propeller hat is a Japanese guy with a propeller hat and thats who built it.

I have heard that the new HKS's do not even have an adjustment screw but this is rumors., So I will agree with you.. ;)

Mine was fine until I upgraded the turbo and I had comp surge at low boost, Once adjusted, the surge it is about gone. But I am going to install a second BOV to remove all comp surge.
