my new 1/4 mile time (video added)

went to sacramento raceway on weds and it was pretty hot out, i may have been able to run better but here is the results.

13.0 @ 111mph
reaction time was .019
60ft was 2.7 (racing on heavy 18" chrome wheels with falken street tires)

car did pretty good but i think i can break into the 12's soon.

1/4 mile times

hi, great track times ,just bought myself a supra 3 turbo ,what mods did you need to achieve these times ? might have ago myself when the supra tuned .

stumpjumper 05-14-2006 12:51 AM

Those are pretty good times, seeing as you did it on chromies.I am curious what my times are. My car is a stock 86.5 N/A. I bet it'el run 15's.
ANyone know what stock times are?

djalkyd 05-14-2006 01:30 AM

when i ran stock it was 15.3 but on the same heavy rims and tires.

the mods i have for the 13 second run are:

3" full exhaust (no cats just a test pipe) and a flow master 2 chamber muffler
cool eeze full 2 1/2" innercooler piping kit and 3" suction pipe with k&n filter
hks blow off valve
lexus ls400 maf
aeromotive adjustable fuel pressure regulator kit made for mk3 supra (from e-bay)
stage 3 spec clutch and fidanza lightened flywheel
denzo iridium plugs (2 steps colder)
12psi boost (but it goes to 15psi under a 75 shot of nitrous)

djalkyd 05-14-2006 06:58 AM

here is a video of the race. my friend was driving the el camino. we bet a soda and he never paid up.... what a punk.

You cant hear it all that good, but your car sounds awesome. I love the way supra motors sound haha. I have a 2.5 inch menike(cheap) exhaust and a flowmaster 50 series, and I love the way it sounds. I just need a header and a better cat now...

suprra_girl 05-19-2006 12:06 PM

AWESOME!!!!!!

what turbo were you using? upgraded ct?

djalkyd 05-20-2006 05:11 AM

it was a stock turbo set at 12psi and then a 75 shot of nitrous which help boost to 15psi and help with lag off the line.

to bad the car has been stolen now or i could have gotten it into the 12's

lifesnotfair 05-20-2006 03:22 PM

!!

Ouch... that stinks.

1988gte 05-21-2006 03:35 PM

I cant stop watching your video!! Great take off . i guess nitrous makes a bid diff for the lag and the weight. How do you like the cooleeze

djalkyd 05-22-2006 04:13 AM

cooleeze was ok, i think a little more thought into it and it would have been a great add on.

the silicone coulings they give are to short and where they connect to the stock innercooler they were to big around. i think they used 2 1/2 inch piping and couplings and the innercooler was 2 inch so it kind of bunched up. the clamps are crappy. the piping barely fit, i really had to work it to make it fit.

they welded all the turns instead of using mandrel bends.

there were to many parts to the kit which would lead to many weak points under high boost. the lower piping was 2 parts and it could have been a one piece pipe if they took a little more care in the development of it.

the upper piping was really nice with the heat treatment. this part of the piping actually fit very well but again the silicone couplings were a little on the short side.

the suction pipe they have doesn't fit very well either and it is also welded to heck and back. they also send 3 little extra rubber hoses to extend the length for the pcv hose and stock bypass valve. it is a very cheap fix and doesn't work very well at all.

i didn't use the 3 extra hose pieces, i actually bought longer hose that would flex and i went with the hks blow off valve so i didn't use the stock bypass valve.

all in all for the money i would go with someone else but if you get it real cheap then it's ok.

Damn, im kindof dissapointed to hear that about the cooleeze pipes. I was actually planning on purchasing them in the future since I have heard nothing but good things about cooleeze, but this makes me want to change my mind on the intercooler pipes.

Why no upgraded downpipe? Isn't that supposed to give you one of the biggest horsepower gains? Again im thinking about purchasing cooleeze's 3" downpipe..

1988gte 05-22-2006 05:05 PM

i agree that is a bummer but thanks for the info. Ill look around a bit more. good luck on finding or buying another supra. damn thieves

djalkyd 05-26-2006 03:59 AM

i had the entire exhaust from them also, i will say that the exhaust was perfect. it fit better than factory and all you have to do is get a muffler for it. the down pipe is extremely easy to install and is actually easier to fit rather than the stock one.

so if you are looking for a great performing exhaust then go with them.

i am trying not to knock their innercooler kit, i am just giving my opinion from a professional point of view. for a step up from stock, it is a good kit. for anyone wanting to make serious power, stay away from it.

djalkyd 06-11-2006 01:13 AM

the cops found my car. poor thing has no wheels.

i will be picking it up from the tow yard on monday so i hope the buttheads that stole it didn't destroy the engine. i bet they took the innercooler piping since it was chrome to.

it is proven that all monkey's like shiney objects. just because the rims were chrome, they had to steal the whole car, why couldn't they just do it where the car was.

oh well, at least i will be getting the car back. all the cops told me was that the wheels were gone so i have no idea if the car even runs or not.

i will post more when i get the car back on monday.

Reeves 06-11-2006 04:42 AM

Glad they gound it. Good luck!

You say Cooleeze didn't use mendrel bends on their IC pipes.. Their website says specifically that they do in fact use mednrel bends. What's with the false advertisement??? It really dissapoints me, as I had high hopes with Cooleeze.

djalkyd 06-11-2006 11:28 PM

when i get the car back and if the innercooler piping is still there, i will take close pics of the welds and piping. they use mandrel bends but it is the way they constructed the piping and where they have you put the silicone couplings.

Snotcycle 06-12-2006 05:42 AM

Are you still on stock injectors with the lexusAFM?
how did you rememdy the lean situation?
