recirculation

i have heard from others that if you put in a bov you have to hook it up to the recirculation thingy so i have a couple questions (prolly dumbs ones this is my first turbo car)

1. do i have to hook it up to the recirculation
2. if not can i just bypass the thing
3. if these arent making sense how do i hook up the bov so that i get the sound and what its post to do

You don't have to recirculate and most don't. If you recirculate then the noise is getting sucked back into the intake side of the engine and not as loud. You may absolutely by-pass your recirc, that is the difference between a recirc valve and a blow off valve. Air gets metered as it comes into the engine by the Mass air flow sensor. The recirc dumps the metered air back into the intake side where the blow off dumps that metered air into the atmosphere. Some people say it can cause bogging of the engine because the engine is expecting more air and so dumps extra fuel into the cylinders. I've never had the problem personnaly. There yah go, welcome to boosting.

ok thanks for answering my questions wonder if you wouldnt mind answering another where should i put the bov close to the turbo or close to the throttle body??

most people put the BOV next/close to the AFM.

I have it this way because I have the vented headlight covers so the sound of the BOV is a little more intense :bigthumb: .

Honestly it doesn't matter, you don't have much space in the engine compartment of a supra anyways. Really the only choices are stock location and in the front right of the car. They make no difference because both locations are after the turbo charger and before the butterfly so they both prevent turbo back lash just as effectivily.
