stripped stock wheels?

a while back I remember reading about someone who took all the paint off their stock sawblades and thay were like a polished look. Im thinking about doing this and would like to know how its done, I've already searched and no luck, if anyone knows anything about this please let me know.

Thanks Supra Lovers.

I don't remember seeing that thread.

But I have stipped wheels before.
I used Aircraft Remover to get the clear off.

I think I read that the aluminum underneath is pretty smooth, but it can't be all that smooth or else the clear won't stick to it.

I imagine then you would polish the metal and go through the grits up to 1500 or 2000.

I polished lots of aluminum parts before--very time consuming! (At least my parts were.)

cool thanks TONY, but i wonder about the center cap because its plastic and it would probley look dumb to have a shiny wheel and a painted cap:dunno:

heheh
Well, the best advice I could give you there is to buy "chrome" paint for the center caps.
I bought that myself once and painted a half helmet for a customer.
I would not say that the "chrome" paint actually looks chrome, but it does look very metal like indeed!
That would be the best advice I could think of.
You can even buy that metal looking paint in a spray can from Advanced Auto Parts; so you don't need a compressor, paintgun, hoses, etc to spray the center caps either.
