what is this?

Iwas reading on this other thread and one guy said that to get some cheap horespower he loosend the tesion on the spring of the afm i was wondering what the afm was? the otherquistion i had was what is the best kind of exshaust that you guys have found i am looking for a high flow cat back system but want it to still be pretty loud but i a in highschool so i am also trying to go for something cheap but can sped somewhere around 350 dollars on exhaust

the afm is the air flow meter. it is right behind the air box http://suprasport.com/product.asp?itemid=178

i dont know about the exhaust, i havent gotten one yet. im torn between having mine custom made or buying a dp, test pipe, and catback.

search this site

google a site called cooleeze he s in canada and by my opinion he has the best stuff out there for turbo supras (kickass downpipe)

kwnate 02-19-2006 02:49 AM

The best downpipe on the market for a ct26 is the BIC Performance Divorced downpipe. No competition.

you are not going to get much exhaust for 350 dollars .
make a replacement part in welding class the same size as the cat only like 3 inches diam. aka a test-pipe
if you are really good @ welding you can replace/remove the precat in the down pipe .
the modded pre-cat won't affect emissions testing too much so you can leave in all the time and you can pop in the "test_pipe" whenever you need to . that will give you a few ponies for close to free.
hello fco

does bic make a complete kit

greg from cooleeze does and he also makes ic kits which by the way i powdercoat them for him i see his quality and he has top notch so at least check him out and then u can make a decision on bic or cooleeze

dcrusupra 02-19-2006 05:36 AM

Yea, Thats the kit im picking up for when i do the turbo swap. I heard some really good things about the cooleze ic piping.

supras use a hot wire in the afm not a spring.

but wouldn't that mean your friend's car is running way to rich or leaned right out ?

supraboy8809 02-19-2006 04:22 PM

i dont know

You said something about a hot wire and do not know what that is and i did not here that thing about looseing the tension on the afm spring from a friend i heard it from a person on this forum so what is the hot wire
