10" wheels on rear?

Hey, just wondering if its possible to put 17x10 inch wheels on the back of a 87 turbo, and also if if you can fit 17x9's of the front??

Thanks,

Matt

It sure will. I have 18x10's with a +44 offset, and 18x9 with a +39 offset.

Do you have those with no rub issues?? Do you have spacers?? And also what size tires do you have on??

Matt

Don't need spacers when you order the correct offset. So no, I don't use spacers. 275 35 series in the rear, 245 40 series in the front. I should have ordered 285-30s and 255 35s. I've only put 150 miles on these wheels and I've rubbed once going 80+ around a sweeping corner, hit a bump... Only rubbed the plastic inner liner. There is no evidence of any rubbing on the fender or the liner though....

I have 275-35-18 rear (9.5") and 245-40-18 front (8.5") and I don't think it has ever rubbed. I don't know what offset they are. :)

knwate, I know you've asked for pics before... be patient. I got my springs already, and ordered some cheap KYB shocks. Also got front bumper and grills, and the clear turn signals/euro fogs are on the way. Also all the mouldings are on the way. I'll take pics once everything above mentioned is installed. I think the car is gonna look AWESOME! At least I hope so.

I've already started thinking interior-wise. Ordered an 89+ climate control unit, and I'm searching for a newly styled cluster. Gonna order an euro speedo face though (280km/h reading). Oh, and just ordered the pocket that goes under the cdplayer, where currently an equalizer stands. And I have to buy a mp3 player now. And mounting brackets for 6" speakers. Geeeez, this car's gonna take all my money!! :-)

hey kwnate, i just lowered my supra 1.6" and is preaty sweet i might add, but im wondering if your supra is droped because how mine sits in the rear with the stock wheels its ok for bumps because the wheel fits up inside the wheel well, but i want new wheels and want to go with 18x10 in the rear but im worried the wheel will be to wide and not fit in the well and just smash into my fender, what setups have others used? thanks.

i guess this isnt really directed to kwnate but thought id ask.

Here is a side view, The offset is +44 on the rear. There is just enough room to fit one finger between the shock and the tire. I'm not concerned about it rubbing the fender at all on the rear. I'm lowered probably 1.5 inches in the rear.

how do the tires bite?

kwnate 02-15-2006 01:37 AM

Only put 150 miles on em before the car went down for a rebuild. I'll have too much power to hook em up once I'm back on the road.... So I can't really answer. Sorry
