Default Ah this cars killin me! (engine or turbo prob)

Ive got a 91 2 litre tt

The cars engine seems to run fine.............but when at very top acceleration and speed the engin lets out a couple gurgles/yelp sounds (wasnt there when i first bought it)

someone mentioned it could be a pressure leak of some kind?

Ideas anyone?

sounds like u have a leak in youre intercooler or in you turbo piping, you can have the system smoke tested at just about any dealership and it doesnt have to be a toyota dealership very cheap and easy....

just curious, how'd the other problem pan out ?

anyway - is that top speed near rev limiter ? i know the autos tend to stick into gears for too long

Delivering it home with a friend driving the Supra for the first time. I drop gears and make a scream from the twin pipes flowing down this pony's flanks and it takes off like it's tail's on fire.

I look back when the Honda gets to its tap-out and the Supra's only two lengths behind. No one I've let ride my bike has told me its slow, they've all loved the thing. That car is a good thing indeed.

cheapest way to fix it would be to source a ct-13 turbo from a wrecked supra and swap it for the broken one.

don't think there's anything out there to make a supra TT into a t. petrol heads just don't think that way. be a big job tho. exhaust, exhaust manifold, intercooler plumbing, turbo itself ...
