Want to import a 1990 2.0L GT Twin Turbo
Hi all -- I'm in Canada and I want to import a 1990 2.0L Twin Turbo (77k km on the clock) from Japan. As I've never driven this model, does anyone have any comments on this engine from a performance/durability standpoint? Is it easy to get parts such oil filter, air filter, alternator, etc? Or are they very expensive to replace?
Any comments most welcome! |
Also, anyone know where I can a repair manual for the 2.0L TT?
|
Just be aware that the 2.0l is the smallest engine offered in a mk3. It's not the fastest and there isn't that much aftermarket for them. Look into a 1jz Supra is your going to import one or just pick up a 7m car locally. Just my .02...

HI
I own a 2.0lt TT they are slower than a 7m or 1Jz, oil filter etc are the same as a 7m or lexus is200 plus with JDM you can get digi Dash folding mirrors etc all the nice little things std cars don't have and most are rust free:) If you are looking to modify it a 7m ex system fits and look on www.toymods.net and then look of a link to importbitz. They have a few bits like hks single turbo manifolds etc, also they don't blow head gaskets as easy as 7m do, the auto box is the same as a N/A apparently. |
Thanks very much -- great info. Any luck finding a repair manual of any sort?
