water build up in spare tire wheel, 87 supra---any solutions??????

some way some how water is leeking into the spare tire wail in the trunk, i dont think its coming from the top of the car cus the trunk carpet never feels wet.....i herd supras leak any detail on this?

best thing you can do is get someone inside the car with ur back seats down and you outside it hosing it down
aim it straight down the trunk area to see if your rubber is leaking first
if no drips then try at the bottom of the rear windscreen and rear wiper and see if that leaks
if still no drips then try aiming it straight at your tail lights

if it leaks when aimed at your taillights then the red lense is parting away from the black frame... silicon can seal up that gap and hopefully no more water
it could be that your taillight gaskets are old and corroded so you may need some new ones of those

tomorrow if i get time i will take pics on how i fixed our taillight leak :)

hatch leaks

There has been many threads on the hatch leaking. It is a common problem. The water will work its way down to the lowest point.

You can pull the rubber plug under the spare to let the water out.

Mine does it too. Many (me too) feel it comes from the glass at the bottom on the hatch. Fixing it can be a bit of work.

Also...check each rear wheel well (where the jack is stored) L&R. If there is water in them, you can pull the rubber plugs out. I leave mine out permanently.

I have a similar problem...my rear hatch fills with water amd when i open it it all pours in the trunk, not a lot of water only about 1/4 cup but still i dont want it in there. i think it may be the rear wiper or window seal. anyone fix one of these before?

something i suggest is that you look for rust in ur spair wheel area very common i just sand it down and primmerd it so rust doesnt eat away the section check ever so oven when rains comes around which is hardly in vegas :(
