as u guys prob have read in other posts im doing the 7mgte swap in my na supra. today i found a 7mgte for $1100 AUD (real cheap) including everything needed for the swap, however the engine is from a cressida.. will this work in my supra, or will everything be completly different?

hmmm no reason why it shouldn't work
just the loom and stuff won't fit like a supra one... you'll need the ecu etc out
but in theory yes should work

might need an auto sparky to do that dash work tho ;)

Hey so what about a fully built 7mgte out of a supra into a cressida??

I have a Supra 7mgte I was going to put in another mk3 Supra. But I've been reading these Cressidas are real beasts!! Especially built and turbocharged, they make excellent sleepers!

Does anyone know how difficult the swap is?

I imagine it would be like swapping an 7mge for a 7mgte (on mk3's), refering to the ecu and harness and everything else that needs to be swapped from an 7mge to a 7mgte.

my 7mge(non turbo engine) came out of a cressida and it swapped perfectly.

The only problem you would have mechanically switching between a Supra and Cressida is the oil pans. Cressidas are front sump and Supras are rear sump. So you just swap oil pans. If you were putting a Supra engine in the Cressida you need to swap motor mounts for the cressida and oil pan. Everything else will bolt up. You would have to modify your Supra harness to work for the Cressida though alot of extension of plugs and what not. Plus you would have to custom make all your own brackets and piping for an intercooler and oil cooler. Other than that its real simple. I was going to do that in my 91 Cressida that I just got rid of. Got rid of her because I found another Supra for a great deal so I bought the Supra which is my fifth one. Parted out the Cressida then junked it. I did keep the engine though because I needed the crank and rods to do the rebuild on my Supra engine.
