lowering kit!!

I've been wanting to get a lowering kit for my MKIII since the day i got it and have found one on a site for 140.00 bucks! just the springs for a 2" drop. Im going to it and was wornding how others like the resaults with lowering. and also the price of getting them installed? and if new shocks are mandatory.

you can put the springs in yourself and save a little money, its really easy, takes some time if you are new to these kinds of things

chances are though

if u replace the springs without replacing the shocks to they will go soon after i m diying to do mine to but i think i m going to wait till spring and do them both aswell as put in a complete poly bushing kit toooo

I wouldn't be hasty and go with a cheap brand.

i highly recommend getting coilovers since they are adjustable

The ride gets very stiff. I have KYB shocks,2" lowering springs and 55 profile tires on the stock 16" rims. I don't mind the ride, but it gets pretty bumpy on a less than smooth freeway. I can tell if the dime is heads or tails when I run over it! The handling is greatly improved although I think the springs with less aggressive shocks and bigger swaybars would have been a better choice for flatter cornering and a little softer ride.

Jeez, getting old I guess. I used to love driving a go kart-like car...............sigh.

I agree. I got Tokiko Blues, Eibach 2" lowering springs, and ST sway bars and I have to say the ride is smooth and cornering is pretty damn flat mainly because of the sways. Invest in sways!

Sway bar$

Hey thanks to all for the advice! The springs are on the way and I'm going to install them myself, seems like its going to be preaty easy. And I agree on the sway bars. they'ed be much better than the stockers, but the only ones I've seen are around 300 bucks. do you guys know of any better deals?

Thanks again!
