7mge motor to 7mgte; no motor swap

Ok i am new to supra forums and i don't know a ton about cars, but i have a 87 supra NA and i want to turbo the motor without doing an engine swap?

So what parts do i need to be able to do this and is it possible to do and how hard is it?

Thanks

turbo manifold, low comp pistons if running high boost, replace head gasket if not alrdy done, basic maintenance, downpipe, injectors, afm meter, theres a bunch of stuff...let us know how far you want to take the project

Um pretty much i just want to put a turbo on it for now, because like everyone i am poor and going to college. So just the basic stuff to turbo it and have it running fine. oh and no high boost only about 6-8 psi

Thanks

so slap a turbo on...ull need a turbo manifold and some piping

boogum7 12-08-2005 06:30 PM

so do i need oil lines to the turbo from the oil pan, any sensors, etc.

i have the manifold, elbow, and turbo coming; so i need a downpipe and what else?

Thanks

yes you will need oil lines to the turbo. also you'll need piping from the turbo to the intercooler then back to the intake manifold

This will be hardest, but try to find a donor car, take pictures and then do the swap. There are just way too many things to change than just putting on a turbo.

i've been told and i'm not sure that the cam sensors should be swaped along with the cams but i'm not sure that this is necessary.

if someone would correct me please.
