question

whats the difference in turbo 2.5 inch exhaust an non turbo 2.5in exhaust? And whats the best turbo to go with on a 1989 supra with lil lag?

The exhaust is the same, except a N/A has a manifold and headers, a turbo has a collector, turbo, elbow and down pipe. I almost have no idea what your asking in this post but... The bigger a turbo is the more peak boost possible, however it generally takes longer to spool. Smaller turbo with means faster spool with less peak pressure. You can always twin turbo but that means an engine swap =0

The answer to that question can only be determined by knowing what your supporting mods are, and what your ultimate goals are. If you just want a freshly rebuilt turbo that will deliver more power while not having much lag, you should probably just have your stock turbo upgraded.

What kind of upgrades are you talking about? That is exactly what I want to do somewhere down the line, but as of now have no idea how to go about it.

You can have your stock turbo upgraded, where the put a bigger intake compressor, and possibly have the exhaust wheel clipped. This increases the efficiency range of the ct-26 to about 18 psi...if you get a .60 trim, where the stock one becomes inefficient around 14psi. You may be able to find a local place that rebuilds turbos, they should be able to do it. Otherwise you will have to ship it somewhere. Majestic turbo here in Dallas does a good job. I've also heard Precision turbo somewhere up north, maybe in canada, does an excellent job as well.

Awesome. Any idea what all that would cost?

450 for rebuild and upgrade to 50mm trim from turbonetics ;)
