best bang for your buck in turbo
whats the first and best upgrades to start with on the 7mgte? i'm getting one from japan soon so i'm looking forward to upgrading.
Replace and Repair Maintenance, a.k.a R&R Maintenance, a.k.a Corrective Maintenance. Also Preventative Maintenance. Although those may not be the best bang for the buck upgrades, in my humble opinion, that's the best place to start.
I think the best "bang for the buck" HP adder for any car is Nitrous Oxide. The other would be upgrading the exhaust starting with the Turbo Exhaust Elbow --> all the way down to the exhaust tip. |
which ones would you start with first... and which are the most important? Then after that... ?
i would go with upgrading the exhaust first...from teh downpipe, the cat, and finally the muffler, also i would replace the intake...go with either a short ram or a custom cai...i went with a custom cai, these will pretty much increase the flow into and out of hte motor, then if you want..go nitrous...but i would save my money for something more permanent than a couple shots of laughing gas

after all the exhaust and intake next would u start with stuff liek boost controllers and intercoolers, or cam gears?
and thanx for the help |
Lexus AFM & 550cc Injectors.
where can you buy lexus afm and 550cc injectors, and how much do they cost, and how much hp do they add.
If you haven't learned yet, http://www.eBay.com is a wonderful place to gauge street value of parts as well as buy them. FAQ are a good place to resource information as well. The same goes with the search engine of message boards. A FAQ is where I learned a lot of things about the MkIII on my own.
Such as the Lexus AFM (or MAF). This will properly prepare your vehicle for more airflow, 25% more from what I've read. You can use this before you upgrade your injectors, but your chances of running lean and causing some type of engine destruction are pretty good. Upgrade at your discretion. As far as HP levels, I am not familiar with gains from this vehicle yet. Someone else has to answer that. But if were to guess, 25+ from a fully upgraded exhaust, and 25+ from the AFM & injectors. Granted, your engine is in optimal operating condition. |
the afm meter is fine, but i wouldnt go with teh larger injectors that early... i would upgrade the injectors after getting more power...since you will need the extra fuel to burn
could upgrading hte injectors cause internal damage?
no, injectors just spray the amount of fuel needed into teh combustion chamber, theyre controlled by a solenoid which is pretty much controlled by the ecu...without going through all the sensors and whatnot, upgrading injectors gives you more capacity...meaning it has the ability to spray more fuel in teh to chamber and you max it out as easily...it has a higher limit
ok thanx, i found a lexus afm for 116 i don't know if you could find one cheaper
