kewlcoconut 10-23-2005 06:29 AM

$320 a year???? are you serious??

in Vancouver BC, i pay $2400 a year. so im paying $200 a month! ridiculous ICBC is insane with their rates.

Prez420 10-23-2005 03:47 PM

not worth it to have a whole year of insurance on your supra in BC. u cant drive it year round. well... I wouldnt anyways. Im on the island. I also get 45% off for being a "road star" :)

joel w 10-23-2005 09:42 PM

yup, i was seriouse, i used to pay $250 a month when i was high risk lol, but once you i hit 30+ and no tickets they dropped my rates mass.

Well...in So. Cal. with StateFarm, good driver and all the discounts, $67 mo. Thats full coverage, $0 deductables (I don't like sudden $$ suprises out of my wallet). $600 of free plastic window mouldings when freak hailstorm chipped them up.

Free tire and rim and alignment when I hit something on freeway in heavy rain storm.

kewlcoconut 10-24-2005 06:39 AM

well i need to drive my car all year round. its my only car and i work a lot and stuff. it sucks. ICBC is so lame. they rip people off so much. i wish that BC's insurance rates werent sent by a government company. i wish we could use companies like geico or something

mrnickleye 10-24-2005 06:45 AM

Here in So. Cal. at StateFarm, with all the discounts available...$67 mo. $0 deductible (I don't like $$$$ suprises out of my wallet).

Free $600 of new window mouldings when a freak hail storm hit 2 yrs ago.

Free tire, rim, and alignment when I hit something on the freeway during a stormy night.

Tater_Salad 10-24-2005 02:43 PM

im going through usaa and they qouted me at 120 a month which is only a dollar more then my rabbit was.

SupraMan1784 10-24-2005 04:18 PM

im 20...im surprised i got it that cheap...but i had no violations, got taht discount for 90+ on teh drivers test...basically they liked that i was a clean, young driver...i dunno how or wut amde them think that way...but hey i aint complainin

Tater_Salad 10-25-2005 01:08 AM

what compeny? Im 18 no violations with 90+ on driving test and the writen.

mrnickleye 10-25-2005 03:12 AM

The BIG question is....what coverages do you have??? That has ALOT to do with what you pay for insurance. I pay $34mo for liabilty (required). That's $50/100/50k. I could pay less, for less coverage, but I don't want to get sued for not enough coverage.

I'd say you folks with very low rates are not fully covering your car. Plus, you aren't in the insane economy of beautiful Californ-i-a.

In North Carolina, same coverage, same car, same company was 1/2 of Calif. rates. And mine is lower here in the desert than it would be in the city, like L.A. or S.F.

1988gte 10-25-2005 05:11 AM

state-Texas, age-24, insurance-state farm

i pay $34.00 month for liabilty for 88 supra turbo targa, $78.00 a month for full on 05 gsxr 600, $130.00 a month for full 04 mach1. damn i pay 2904 a year! never added it up till just now. Im thinking about going full on supra when i start to drive it more can't wait!!

SupraMan1784 10-25-2005 01:28 PM

i live in nj and i use geico...but..there was one thing i dint mention, and that is that a close family friend works for geico...so i kinda got an "employee discount" type of deal...honestly...the insurance woulda been a lot higher.. but that person pulled some strings here and there and got me an amazing rate

supra_91 10-25-2005 01:40 PM

i'm 16 :D....... its great

supra_91 10-25-2005 01:41 PM

oh.....and my insurace company is Country Companies

joel w 10-26-2005 12:06 AM

im 33 with clean record, well nothing in the last 3-4 yrs and i have just liability coverage only with the hartford ins company..

supra_91 10-26-2005 01:50 AM

its funny how my insurance is cheaper than all ya's.....and i'm 16

hahahahahahahah....lol

kewlcoconut 10-26-2005 08:50 AM

ugh. move to BC. you will crap your pants on how high insurance is here. we have a company called ICBC that runs ALL of the insurance in BC. there are no other small insurance companies like state farm or geico. the government sets your insurance. you get discounts for "safe driving" and stuff. but they are so miniscule that you dont even know you have one.

im 20 and i pay $200 a month for my insurance, and i have a clean driving record. ICBC is an insane monopoly. you should be thankful that you pay such low insurance in the states where you guys live. i would be in heaven if i were paying like $60 a month like some of you guys.

SupraMan1784 10-26-2005 12:43 PM

country companies? never heard of that...its probably one of those local insurance companies...is that just for BC? or all of Canada too...i would suspect that Canada has lower insurance rates...maybe im wrong...i dunno why but my spider sense is tingling...

supra_91 10-26-2005 01:54 PM

country companies is pretty popular where i live

SupraMan1784 10-26-2005 02:13 PM

theres a country buffet like...5 miles from my house....

kewlcoconut 10-26-2005 07:55 PM

it is only in BC. ICBC runs all of the insurance in BC. you have no choice but to use them to insure your car. there are no other companies. its a monopoly. mostly all the other provinces in Canada are able to use companies like geico to get their insurance. but since BC is so lame, they decide to use a company that basically robs people of their money. like Prez said earlier, its not worth having a Supra or any sports car as an all year round car in BC. but in my case, i need it because i have no other car. so i get shafted with the insanely high insurance.

supra_91 10-28-2005 12:16 AM
