Oil Squirter banjo broke

Hi supramecanics, Im new to this forum and this is my first thread so please be gentle. :wavey:

I have read to always search the forums first, well i have and I came up with nothing like my problem so hopfully nobody will be angered. :sadwavey:

You see yesterday I was standing in my garage building my 7mgte ,as always, when something precurious happend. A bolt sheared off! And not anny bolt at that, a Oil squirter/jet banjo bolt (m10) of all things!

Troubled by this i checked my torque wrench to see if I had set it at the wrong Nm specification what i found was that i had set it to the "correct" specification afterall, At least according to the TSRM that I have.

For reference my manual specifies 25 Nm (18.43 ft lbs) to be the fabled number.

I am quite puzzled by this and would like to know what you, my fellow supra enthusiasts, have to say in this matter.
Do you torque to the number 25? or is there a more suitable number for this task.

That torque should be good. Just old metal subjected to many hot and cold cycles probably explains your sheared bolt.

Thanks for the response :)

yeah im starting to think that is the case with these. I sheared two of the bolts but they where probably in the car out of the factory so I guess they have had quite a life :). I just didin't want to shear annother one beccause they were really expensive, the local toyota dealer wanted 200 dollars(rough amount converted) for the six of them.

Have your torque wrench checked for accuracy. The possible part numbers for the oil check valve bolts are: 1570342010 ; 1140149575 ; 1570366010. I think the price you are being quoted is a ripoff. They normally sell from between 10 to 13 USD each when they can be found. Here is a link to OEMparter with a list of dealers that may have it.

I have 6 brand-new ones that I could throw up on eBay if that helps you.

Yeah, i have already gotten the bolts. Had to import them from the states, im in sweden and as always the dealers tried to rip me off on the bolts. They asked for about 30$ a bolt. Also the wrench i used was the needle type torque wrench so there aint much to check.

Thanks for the offer on ebaying them over though :) bruh
