Default Newby Questions regarding 87 Supra Turbo

Hi, I'm brand new to the forum. I need to ask a couple of questions regarding my recent purchase of a beautiful 87 Supra Turbo. And, I'm sure these topics have been posted many times before, so I'm sorry that I need to bring them up again. But, here goes;

I just purchased a 87 Supra Turbo (5 speed) with 69K miles. It's an exceptionally clean car that is all original and was garage kept its entire life (so says the original owner). Anyway, the timing belt was never replaced and I'm wondering if this is necessary. And, the Head Gasket was never replaced or torqued with the recalled/new setting. Are these things that I should address right away? The engine doesn't leak and it looks super clean (like new).

I checked the radiator and the coolant is yellow. I read somewhere that it should be Toyota red. Is that something that I should replace as well?

Thanks. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Wsup man, welcome to the supra club! So I would probably just replace the timing belt, even if it does only have 70k, it is a 20+ year old car. As for the coolant, I do know that prestone coolant is yellow so maybe the previous owner used that, but flushing it out and changing it wouldn't hurt. As for the headgasket, doing a HG replacement can be pricey so that depends on your budget. But there are ways to detect if you are starting to have a BHG (can easily search it up), so I would start with that first. You could also take it to a mechanic to have them inspect it and see if they notice anything serious/damaged/and notable. Hope this helps

Time and money permitting, I'd do the head gasket, replace vacuum hoses, replace coolant (the green stuff is ok but not optimal), replace the timing belt, and oil seals.... possibly the water pump. As S-mk3-B said, it's not just mileage you need to worry about, age exacts its own price on all these components.

If there are no warning signs with any of these components and you're just driving the car like a sane person, I'd simply keep an eye out for leaks and replace the vacuum hoses and be on my merry way.
