i would clean it up. have head checked for warpage and surfaced if needed.. depending on milage and carbon buildup in valve chamber i may have the valves lapped into the seats. install the new valve guide seals since the valves are out and they come with the head set. get the valves adjusted.(not easy) as long as head is off id look hard at the play in the pistons at top and botton of the strokes. scratches are bad in the walls , and scrape off the carbon buildup at the top of the cylinder wall carefully if slop is not present. if pistons are sloppy even a little id rebuild it, specially if your going for lots of horse power. for a few $ more i would get the arp stud kit instead of new bolts. and run it. unless puting new rings in i would not hone it out when there already seated.??
