there is just alot of things not designed to hold the rpms and power. lets start with the rods. ive seen alot of stretched rod bolts and bearing failures in stock 7m engines.
all im saying is why not start with an engine that was already designed to hold a higher power output
first off WHO in the right mind would build a 1000hp motor and use stock rods?, i belive the 7m and the 2j can easily hold 1000hp whith the right owner and builder but neither of them where purpose built for this kind of performanc.

my 5mge and 7mge's that i have had use more fuel and make less power than most of the v8s ive had.
i just no longer see the point.
of couasre the straigh 6 3000cc motor will need more gas and abit less power than an american v8. lets see im not an american expert( far from it) but isent even the smallest v8 at least 5000cc, when you start whith a high power big bore motor u dont really need much to get 1000hp, now look at the world of formula one they are running 3,000cc motors that push out well over 1000hp from this engine(could go even higher if they dident have restrictons on rpms and power), this can be done becuase they spin such high rpm's. any one can cram a ls2, super charge it and make 1000hp big whoop(never thought i would say that) there 6000'cc its not hard to make that much power if the motor is massive. it takes a real builder to make a reliable small displacment motor push as much as a bigger one.
