i belive reliability is a term not very specific, it relies on many variables motor condison, miles, oil changes, alot of other stuff. look at the bmw 2002 turbo i would consider that a unreliable motor becuase it has facts that show it would run like a champ if you fixed it every day, i have NEVER seen an unreliable toyota motor( some might be desighned in wierd ways yes) every toyota iv owned and worked on has lived to be about 250k miles at least. i know the 7mgte wasent built to be a full race motor so i dont expect it to be worry free at 1000hp but i bet the 2j wasent eather, any thing can be built to be reliable and fast for the correct fee
![]() ( i would like a 2j in mine just because parts are much more common)
