cold air intake box or extension out of bay?

what cre said,

wat about extending a pipe off the afm, and putting the cold air intake by the bumper

but i would think that if you put the filter at the bumper rain, debris, speed bumps, sand/mud and alot of other stuff would come into contact whith you filter and that would need constant replacments. unless you fabed a shild of some sort

this is what i initaly thought, correct me if im wrong
