Should I Buy?

Wsup everyone, im new to the forums and to supras, and im on my way to buying my first mk3!

I took a look at this 5-speed 89 supra turbo with targa top
150xxx on the chassis and 50xxx on the swapped 7m
White Exterior 8/10
Blue Interior 7/10
With 04 celica seats
Switched to a push start
After market BOV and Rims
Clean Title
Smogged
Also has a Turbo Timer

Bads:
-Doesnt have papers for the swap
-Check engine light on (but said is due from the push start)
-Dash is off a little so the dash lights up low for some reason?
-Interior could use some work

So i drove it, drives alright but you can hear whining when turning so probably need to get power steering replaced? So he offered $4500 but current offer $2600! Should i cop or not?!
Want to make my first supra a good choice!
Lemme know of any issues that i may face or any advice -Thanks!

Paperwork for the engine? So you're taking their word for the 50K mi? Riiiiight. As for JDM engines.... I don't care if it's got only 5,000 miles... If it's possioble that it's been sitting on a pier for a year it's scrap in need of a rebuild. P E R I O D. I've seen plenty of "low mileage" engines which were complete garbage.

Bullshit. If this is the case they fucked up somewhere. The ECU doesn't check to see if you're cranking the starter with a key or a push button... Same goes for remote start systems. See the FAQ section for infor on checking diagnostic codes and pull the codes that are setting the CEL if you can get access to the car for a few minutes.

I have no idea what on earth you're talking about here, but it sounds like an excuse for a half assed job.

If this was originally a 7M-GE equipped vehicle make sure they installed an oil cooling circuit of some kind. The 7M-GTE came with an oil cooler (not the best setup but it helps).

Hey, thanks for all of the advice. And yeah im kind of iffy bout the swap, and i think that the check engine cover up is bull, but ima see wsup cause im making him resmog it and ima see what the check engine light is really from, what codes pop up, so yeah...

Good idea, that's one nice thing about Cali Smog laws; seller is responsible for smogging the car and any associated repairs before they can legally sell it. Unfortunately, many buyers don't know that and get stuck with cars that may cost a small fortune to fix up in order to pass the smog test.

Smart move by get it resmoged if he refuse then dont or if u still want it then ask for low it lil bit more.
