No, do not try to clean the KVAFM. There are NO single digit error codes. Check it again. Possibly a code 32.

hey cre, nah didnt clean it and wont if it will damage... the code i got was flash flash flash,,,flash...i seen someone asking a similar question and he had some flash chart that said it was a code 31.. car runnin ok, but when left at idle it will sputter out n stall unless i give it gas....theres NO check engine light on until right b4 stall.. car was inspected today and passed somehow. :)
thanks for ya time and wisdom cre crop |
The problem could be the BOV. If it's not recirculated you're going to be going quite rich whenever you come off boost. Also, if the spring tension is too low it may be staying open at idle causing an excessive lean condition.
I don't recall ever seeing a code 31 in a MKIII Supra. Odd. Make sure the AFM connector is clean, dry and securely connected. Then reset the ECU and see if the code comes back. There's a list of codes in the FAQ section. The KVAFM is an optical sensor. 99% of the cleaners people try to use either leave residue or fog the optics. |
