poly or stock bushes

need anyone's expert advice on where to go for Poly bushes or stock bushes.

My lower wishbone front and rear need doing, as do the upper ball joints, but should I go for a 16 piece poly and go the whole hog? If I am gonna do it then I suppose so?

Who's gone this route? 1987, n/a

this is the information i got from a friend that owns a 95 rx7 turbo...now keep in mind that this is for a mazda...not necessarily a supra...he told me that though the polyurethane bushings stiffen up your suspension... they dont last as long as the rubber bushings, the polyurethane tends to wear out a lot faster...rubber bushings are also more expensive since they last longer, also he was tellin me when teh bushings get broken in...sometimes they start making a squeaking noise....this guy knows his stuff and ive known him for a while hes pretty knowledgeable..now i hear good stuff and i hear bad stuff about polyurethane bushings...this is just a bad....but remember is for an rx7 not a supra...might be tru for all cars..might not im just gettin some information out for general ideas thats all....hope this helps

for polyurethane bushings...try energy suspension...i dont remember if they list any for an mk3 but i know that they do custom work...u call them up and tell them the name and make of the car..teh year and theyll make them for you

Ronnie K advertises on suprasport.com and sells poly bushing kits for the mk3 :)

Here is where i got my poly bushings. They have quite a few nifty MKIII products. Good guys they are.

Oh and poly bushings don't wear out faster. They ride harder and as such arn't quite as comfy (which is why i'm riding on Tokico Illumina IIs) but they handle better. Rubber is softer and so they don't make the wheel jerk quite as much when you hit bumps while turning or whatever because they give a little. The Poly bushings send it all right on through.

ahh i know wut bushings do and the differences between rubber and polyurethane, but since i havent looked at this topic for my car...previous owner replaced the stock bushings with new stiffer rubber bushings....i did not know the situation for the supra...i was talking about general information since i was talking about an rx7 not a supra...so which ones last longer polyure or the rubber?

Physics and Chemistry hold true no matter what car its applied to... except maybe SGs lol.

You could try looking for some polygraphite bushings.
They are graphite impregnated polyurethane bushing and the graphite is a lubricant to help make the bushings last longer and eliminate squeaks. I havent tried them but would like to on my chevelle when the stock rubber bushings wear out.
try this website to see what they have

mm...chemistry might be teh same for the bushings but physics differ from one car to another...the bushings have different pressures applied to them, for example, a rotary engine is a lot lighter than a supra twin turbo motor, if the same bushings are used...which they arent... teh bushings on teh supra motor are carrying more weight and pressure than teh rotary engine bushings, during hard cornering and launching...its the same deal
