1jvvti??
Ok this is probably a dumb question for most of you. I've been thinking of either rebuilding my 7mgte or doing a 1jz swap. There's a shop near me and they have done a lot of work with supras and they send me an email .about a 1jvvti swap and was wondering if any of you have heard of this?
Thanks in advance |
Yeah, what about it? They're commonly sourced from Cressidas and require swapping the oil pump and pan... other than that it's not much different than a regular 1JZ swap.

So there good strong engines capable say 400+ with stock bottom end? Oh and reliable?
|
It's a 1JZ. They can be extremely reliable. As with any swap I recommend you rebuild it first; It is still an old engine. They may be a little trickier to tune, I haven't ever looked into it.

If it helps you at all. VVTI is just the abbreviation for Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence. It is used on all toyota motors now to the best of my knowledge.
