over heating 87 turbo supra
 

Ok so my supra just started over heating and I'm or sure what's wrong with it? I replaced the radiator a couple weeks ago. Still over heats. I noticed the boost gauge stoped working. As soon as the car gets boost the cAr overheats. Anyideas?

Have you replaced the radiator cap, thermostat or water pump?

if you installed a new radiator did you flush the crap out of the system first? and cre is dead on too

The thermostat was replaced and the radiator cap was also. I had a local shop put in the radiator and I'm sure they flushed out the system and made sure there was no air in the system. The overheating I think is coming from the air intake or turbo it's sizzling in the air intake and the turbo gauge doesn't work. I was told that it's only a vacuum line but that wouldn't cause the car to overheat would it?

It's not the turbo.... you may have a leak in the coolant lines which run to it, but you'd most likely notice the hoses spraying coolant.

The boost gauge is indeed run by a small sensor which has a single vacuum hose running to it. The sensor is mounted by the cruise control actuator and it's vacuum signal comes from the same vacuum hose that runs to the cruise control actuator.

As the heater core sits higher than the radiator's top tank it's not uncommon for air to get trapped in the system... Despite what what many say they've experienced it really shouldn't take long for it to burp out as long as the coolant reservoir is kept topped off for a few days.

I'm going to have to go with bad water pump or blow head gasket.

I had a radiator replacement, but found overheating within a year. Turned out the new radiator was leaking, but was out of warranty. If refilling your radiator is a short-term solution, you might want to cheak for leaks.
