CPS out by 180 degrees

Just a quick question with my car.

The thing with my car is that i have set the crank shaft pulley to zero mark and made sure that it is on TDC.

Cam shafts are aligned to the mark on the back plates.

The CPS is aligned as describbed in the manuals BUT the car dosnt start very well.

BUT, if i then set the crank to zero and make sure its at TDC and then mark the cams to the markings etc ... AND Then put the CPS in to the head at 180 degrees out... the car starts OK..... and is fine.

Can anyone tell me how this would be and why is the CPS out by 180 degrees ??

The CPS and TPS are ALL working correctly. They have been checked and the values are within specified readings.

Thanks

Just checking, do the cams look like this when the crank pulley is at zero ?
