Default Little Annoyances

This will be the place to vent on what is going on with your supra right now. Cuz mine is having problem after problem. I will start out by saying, i hate the factory alarm because it disables my car, and i hate my power steering pump because it is leaking. And my alternator just went a few days ago leaving my battery to die in the turning lane of a major road making me push start it by myself in the rain just to get home. Why are there so many problems? Has any one else gone thru this? Dammit!

Well the cars are 15 to 20 years old now. The parts won't last forever. Most replacement parts have a lifetime guarantee now. Not sure about the alarm problem as mine never worked on my old car and the new one hasn't been on the road yet.

These cars can usually be bought so cheaply now that most of the problems are small enough that it is still cheaper than buying new. I am not trying to lessen the problems you are having, but they happen in all cars eventually. Just persevere and replace what you can and enjoy an otherwise nice car. But you are right, this forum is for complaints and problems and hopefully someone can help and usually does.

Cool more info needed

how does the alarm disable the car? while driving? its possable the door key lever isnt contacting the alarm switch inside the door so when you unlock the car door the alarm goes off and car wont start after that? or what do you mean? the power steering leak is most likely just the feed or return line. mine leaked, just tightened up the clamp. and the altinator is sweet. brushes are mounted under the back coverplate and are easily removed for inspection. if the armature is still in good shape? slap in some new brushed and you should be good to go. worked on mine..

Default Remove the alarm fuse

If your factory alarm is giving u problems just disable it. Get a Toyota repair manual and use it to find out where the fuse is forthe the facorty alarm. It should be in the fuse box insde the car on the drivers side. Now remove the fuse. That is what I did.

mine used to burn/leak 2 liters of oil every 2 weeks or so. (piston rings needed to be changed badly)

***does anybody else frequently have coolant hose breaks? mine would break hoses all the time. whenever one broke, it would always be one of the same several hoses that we would replace, it would last for 3 years, then it would break again unexpectedly.

does anybodys exhaust make a clicking noise when its cold at about 2500-3000 rpms? after i run it for like 5 minutes its gone. it sounds just like the spark that u hear when u check the sparkplugs for spark, but louder. it even did it when i had my stock exhaust.

what is it? it is very annoying
