looking to lower 88 supra. help!
i just have a couple of questions, what will happen if i put non-tems struts on a supra that has tems on it? second, can i lower the car by putting lowering springs with tems struts? thanks.

You can easily put regular struts on a Supra equipped with TEMS. You simply don't hook up the electrical components. Of course, you should probably take out all of the wiring for the TEMS system when you're done and get the piece for the center console that fits over the TEMS buttons.
I don't have experience with lowering a car with electronic suspension, but I don't foresee any unusual issues in doing so. |
cool, thanks for your help

There are no difficulties to be had. Disconnect and remove the actuator on top of each damper and, if you feel so inclined, removed the TEMS computer and the button cluster. The cars not equipped with TEMS have a little change cup or whatever.... about bit enough to fit a Bic lighter. With the TEMS computer in place the dash LEDs will still light up as they would with the struts still installed.
Oh and if I recall correctly, the wiring is part of the chassis harness. Unless you're a glutton for punishment I'd count on leaving that in place. |
