sure looks like a 7mgte.it is also missing a piece of the timing cover, and middle of your strut brace. you also have an aluminum radiator, and some sort of bov. you should also look into an air filter.

suprra_boy 10-11-2011 02:14 AM

srry my mistake i have a air filter and the timing cover? cant you keep that off to show the gears?

i see aftermarket I/C piping, aftermarket FPR, Radiator, and thats about it for differences.

suprra_boy 10-11-2011 03:15 AM

ok and i also have a vein pressure converter and a safc? i think thats what it is i have no idea what they do:/

You need you cover that son, it look pretty but think if something gets into it. A nice way to mess up your valves and pistons. You need an air filter as well. Then you need to replace the brace. God knows what else is missing. I never had a turbo just a pair of 86.5s one with a 2.0 and one with a 3.0. As to why, dude give your brain a chance. Just think about what would happen if you fod him out. (foreign object damage)
You goal is to get him running as smoothly as possible, smooth is good rough is bad.

if you want to see the gears, there are clear timing covers on ebay. plus they are two piece so you dont have to take the thermostat housing off to change timing (if you have adjustable gears) or do a timing belt.

i have the air filter its broke:( and i have the strut bar but i have a question about the vacuum line i have the schematics or whatever you wanna call them but it doesnt compare to the engine the bvsv only has on port

icey756 10-12-2011 02:53 AM

Not only are u missing the air filter but u are missing the mass air flow sensor as well. Hopefully u actually have it as well, its just not in the picture. I can say one thing though....these cars are fun to work on in my opinion. Me and a friend changed the head gasket on mine and it was a great learning experience. I barely knew anything before that and now i would be able to take the head off myself

i doubt it but does this have anything to do with the mass air flow sensor

looks like a A/F ratio and oil pressure gauge and the safc. not directly connected to the KVAFM.

The car has been bastardized like children like to do. They think they are so much more clever than the professional engineers at Toyota. Like the one piece drive shaft, kids you are going to kill yourself.

yea i know:/ but i am going to get it close to stock as possible

The key is to getting the systems to work right tougher. Stock is good because the Engineering has been done. Am sure there are after market products that work well. You just need to do your homework. About the "children" remark, I swear some people never grow up! My brother "eligible for social security" is in a lot of ways not as mature as my 9 year old nephew.

suprra_boy 10-16-2011 01:51 PM

haha well i am no where at the moment cuz i kinda understand how an engine works but all the extra stuff like the little this is what i dont know

suprra_boy 10-16-2011 02:17 PM

if i have the vein pressure converter do i still need the air flow sensor? or could i just hook it off of the turbo?

87supra7mgte 10-16-2011 06:29 PM

yes, you need you KVAFM, it measures how much air your engine is taking in before the turbo, and sends a signal to the ECU to tell the injectors how much fuel to use. I would imagine the engine doesn't run correctly at the state those pictures were taken. Mine had a wire that wasn't connected and refused to rev above 3000 RPM, went into limp mode to prevent damage to the engine. your BVSV should have 2 ports, one that comes from the charcoal canister to it and another that runs to a vacuum port on the intake or throttle body, can't remember ATM. and as 87hilux said, get something over those cam gears or risk having to do some real dirty work to fix it. do those 3 things and you should notice a huge difference in the way your supra runs. what kind of boost is it pushin BTW? must be a little bit more than 6psi to need the FPR, looks good on it though!

suprra_boy 10-17-2011 12:03 AM

umm im not sure the battery has been dead so yea but i believe it was just a couple more than 6
