7mge-No fire on start up?

Went to start my rebuilt 7m-ge today and motor turned over as it should but im not getting any fire from the coil i do have a constant 12 volts getting to it just not a pulsating signal. Is this just a ignition control modulator failure?

or your cap/rotor is in poor shape. check for spark from the coil wire. if you have that when you crank, but no fire from the individual spark plugs, then your dizzy may have taken a crap. have had this happen alot on cars. check for spark (not just power) at both points (coil and plugs) then get back to us.

also, to get a pulsating signal from the coil, you need a very good multimeter, and i believe it has to be analog, not digital.

Hi!
Have you remembered to refit the earth from the coil plate to the cylinder head?-- this completes the coil circuit to enable the coils to produce a spark-.. no earth--no sparks.

I think this was the problem there were two wires (four wires on two eye connectors) that hook up to the bottom of the intake manifold i had one on the firewall and one on the starter i put them on the intake double checked the timing and it fired right up =) ive put about 150 miles on her and she is still running strong Wooohooo!:bouncy:
