mass air flow sensor

Can any tell me if the sensor from a Lexus will transplant onto a 7mgte from 1987?

yes the sensor itself is the same between the 7m and the 1uz but you dont want to use the housing unless you have injectors to match.

Thank you If I were to use the housing what injectors would I need and would anything else need to be changed? What is the outcome more HP?

550cc injectors is the common upgrade with the 1uz afm housing upgrade.

the housing allows more air to enter the engine, basically unmetered, because the housing is larger. if you didnt do injectors, you would run lean at WOT. there are several threads on here if you search "lexus afm and 550's".

and yes, power is the gain. how much depends on how much you put in. just the afm and 550's, a little.

add a piggyback controller and wideband o2, the power potential increases.

The outcome would be you could run more boost before hitting fuel cut. If you have it tuned properly, yes, the extra boost will yield extra HP. The correct injector size needed would be 560cc. 550 is more commonly available and close enough.
This is not a "slap it on and crank the boost" mod. Fuel pressure, AFM bypass screw and injector size all need to be adjusted for this to be an actual "upgrade". If you're not ready to get the injectors and everything else, don't use the housing.
