bpv help please!

My bypass valve which is stock, went bad. So I've heard alot of people putting Bosch bpv's on there supras. I have a Bosch bpv that I got for free but the stock hoses wont fit the bosh bpv. Solo Wat should I do? Shove thee hose on there? Fabricate a hose somehow? Or buy a bigger hose and clamp them down on the accordion hose?

head to the auto store and see if they have a necked down hose that will adapt the two. if not there, try home depot or lowes.

I bought some new heater hose with the bends I wanted, lubed everything up with a lil WD40 and just rammed the bov into the hose ends. Worked great.

high-five!

just did some red neck engineering on my buddies f150 tonight. (off subject i know) made an electric fan setup for him for less than 50 bux. gained 1.4 mpg and shaved .8 seconds of the 0-60 time. got her down to 7.4!

the fan and controller works great. kicks on at 198 and shuts off at 192. god i love ghetto fabbing.

There's nothing ghetto about what you did.... unless you used the temp probe and thermostat setup from a stove.... that's ghetto. ;)

I had a Bosch on my MKIII, I went to the parts store and looked through the hoses for one which reduced in size... found one in about 2 minutes ($10), cut off the excess and installed with no forcing needed.

haha, true, that would have been ghetto. i need to take some pics of the fan setup, looks like some madmax shtuff.

I'm kind of hip to the oven thermostat fan controller idea... It's adjustable AND it comes with a cool, labeled dial that would look F'n AMAZING on any dash... just imagine the ooh's and ah's... :bigthumb:

We need a Tim Allen thread in the off-topic section. Could start with Lamarossa (just google him) and there's a guy on SF who's done some VERY interesting $2 mods and hacks... some are even well thought out and quite functional.
