starting issue?
 

hey everyone.. i have an issue with the car not starting.. a few weeks ago i had the same issue and found the fusable link in the fuse block under the hood had melted and broke.. i have a parts car that is a 90 and checked the fuse block on that one and found a 100amp block fuse in its place.. i wasnt able to wait for the fusable link to get shipped so i replaced it with a new 100amp fuse and fixed the issue and car had been running great.. i turned the car off and let it sit for about 6 hours and when i returned all the car would do is crank over i have rechecked all my fuses and all are ok and i know im gettin fuel because i can smell it almost like its flooding maybe?? any info at all would be greatly helpful thanks

Have you checked for spark?

I haven't checked it how should I do that?

Well there is a tool to check spark, but if you are in a pinch and only have a screwdriver (which most supra owners will probably have), you can:
Pull the spark plug boot off of the plug
Gently stick a screwdriver (metal end) into the boot until it contacts the connector
hold the screwdriver (plastic end) with the metal part of the screwdriver an 8th of an inch away from any grounded metal on the engine
Have someone crank the engine and watch for a spark. DO NOT allow the metal of the screwdriver to contact the engine, you must maintain a very small gap. Also try not to touch any grounded metal on the car yourself or the spark can jump to your hand, only hurts a little but it'll make you jump.

If you have a plug socket available, you can just unscrew the spark plug, put the wire back on and ground the threaded section against some metal while someone cranks the engine. Again look for spark while cranking.

So I pulled the number 1 spark plug and held it to the strut support bar and got no ark and it should be a dark blue from my understanding what Sony recomend now?

could be bad wires, check them and your coil pack for resistance. at worst, sounds like the coil went bad.

Is this a turbo or n/a? Do you have a test lamp or a multimeter and know how to use it? You will need it to check for power to the coil(s).
