Mk3 price?

hey guys Im gonna go look at this mk3 supra tonight and could use some help. The car is priced at $1500 its a 7mge with a BHG. I will post pics when I get back. What I need to know is what to offer the guy. I know a BHG is a lengthy repair but after they are fixed they should run fine... I hope. So I was thinking about offering maybe $1000 cash if I will buy it tomorrow. Cash usually will get people to sell it for lower. I was thinking of trying the blue devil head sealer for a while. I know its not permanent but its not going to be my daily car just something to drive when I race my friends.

so what would you guys pay for it. I will post pics once I can

Thanks

yessir. It looks good just never bought a car with head issues. and never replaced one on a car engine before. Also when I can see the car (won't be tonight no reply yet and its gonna be dark soon) I will ask the usual questions.

clutch, any leaks, A/C if it even has it?, rust, check the frame rails, then run the vin if I really am that interested after seeing it. check the tires and breaks. As I said I plan on putting like at the most 5k miles a year on it for a little while. And register it as historic. (lower insurance)

Im not a big fan of the n/a. But if you do buy it and decide not to do anything with it. You can make your money back by parting it out.. the transmission will get you about 600 ez.

I am not really into the NA either. I would drive the car as is for a little while and then do a 7mgte swap or even a 1jz. I heard they are rather easy. Then it could be my senior project for school. if not it will still be a fun car to drive. at least its manual.

Hopefully the guy will message me and I can look at it tomorrow.

600 for the trans? the best it will be is a w58 or the auto.

oops im thinking turbo again. R154 probably like 5-6. the non turbo tranny W58 maybe 2-4, and 4 is probably pushing it. might as well not even try to sell the A340e, less you know someone in the market for an auto. Most people who are automatic do the manual swap. But I might be interested in purchasing an auto.. or a manual ! good to have a couple spares around!

I called the guy and no answer so idk. Hopefully I can see it soon to post better pics. I think depending on the condition of everything I could do $1200. but thats if the tires and clutch and stuff is alright. I think 200 hp would be enough to spin the tires a little haha

alright well after some more searching around I found a mk3 with a 1jzgte swap already in it. The price is right lol $1500 but here is the reason... no title or he lost it. and the previous owner passed away. is there any way he can get a replacement title. I don't want to buy the car then go to get it registered and they take the car after spending $1500 cause its stolen. I said I would offer some extra money if he can replace it. I know his situation because the shop I bought a vespa motorscooter from went out of business so we couldn't produce a bill of sale and since the state of maryland doesn't title anything under 50cc a lot of people wouldn't buy it. Being put in that situation sucks.

So the fee in new jersey is $60 bucks for a replacement I would give him $100 for the trouble of it I guess. But here is the problem if he gets a title he can sell the car for a lot more possibly then I am screwed cause I lose out on the car.

here's a rule to follow in life... dont get greedy.

in the end it bites you.

If you buy it without a proper title.. what's the worst that can happen?
(lose the car and the money?) If you can do a title search and verify no leins and that he is the actual owner.. you are probably safe.. but I dont know your state laws.

I would do it right or not at all.. I have done far too many "good deals" in my life that have cost me a lot more than I thought.

Im in Canada.. so that could never happen.. lol. We title cars a bit different.
