Cool MKIII supra prices

Hello everyone I am looking to buy my first supra and hopefully not my last but anyway the one I am looking at seems to be in pretty good condition. its not far from where I live so I might take a look at it tomorrow. Its a 1987 7mge 5spd car. I have already talked to the guy so I know its not a scam unlike when I was looking for a MK4 supra (seemed like they were all scams).

So the car has 140k on it and not out of the ordinary a blown head gasket. I have yet to find out all the details but I think it happened in the last two days as the maryland area has been getting hit with 100 degree plus heat. (thats what the owner said) So he is asking $1500 for it as is. Is that a fair price? my plan would be to repair it so I can have fun with it and my senior project next year will be a 7mgte swap hopefully.

There is a product called "blue devil" its like $60 bucks for a bottle and is supposed to seal up a bad head gasket. now I know this isn't a permanent fit but its gotten good reviews and Im not going to drive this car daily just to some car shows and on the weekends and sometimes to school to show off a little I guess has anyone tried it and can you drive the car kinda hard like peel out sometimes. I don't plan on beating the hell out of any of my cars and haven't yet so a supra won't change that.

Now onto a new head gasket I know this has been covered a lot. I know I am knew to the forum so respectfully don't bother telling me to search. I already have and found a lot of info. I was wondering how long does it take to replace one and can it be done with basic mechanical skills. I rebuilt a lawn mower engine when I was 13 by myself so I am somewhat handy and would have some friends help out with the 7m.

here is the ad. for the car http://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/2507930301.html

if it is priced high what would you suggest? I like the wheels on it and the body looks like its in good condition.

When replacing a head gasket is there anything else I should do? besides just the new gasket or is machining the head only necessary if there is a problem.
