1990 Supra, Need advice

4 Attachment(s)
Hey everyone, I just inherited a white 1990 Supra turbo. It has the white package, burgundy interior, mind condition. The car only has 14,XXX miles on it. It's been babied its entire life, and never been beat on. It's literally show room condition. I'm not sure if it has the 7M-GE or the 7M-GTE. I'd just like to hear everybody's opinions if i should put work into it or not, because i've heard from other Supra enthusiasts, it'd be best to keep it bone stock. Thank you.

this is the turbo model, so it is classified as a 7mgte. theres no 7mgt, just a 7mge and 7mgte (t stands for turbo).

you could do small upgrades, or keep it perfect and take awesome care of it, keep it collector status. id do some base performance upgrades, but i like to go fast so..

some of those would be: fluid exchanges, tune up, belts, filters, exhaust, downpipe, wastegate shim, intercooler, etc.. you can go as far as you can spend basically.

nice inheritance, good luck with it!

Thanks man, yeah i'm not really too sure what to do with it. I'm only 17 now, so insurance has raped me with quotes. I really want to put alot of work into it, but I heard if i start putting work in, it won't be worth as much in the long run. Can anyone give me any quotes on if i was to sell this, or any interested buyer's?
Thank you everyone i really appreciate the information

Wow Honestly if your supra really only has 14K on it you should store it and sometimes drive it to weekend car show's because it is worth a lot of money now but will be worth a lot more later if you leave completely stock do NOT mod that car it will kill the value.....You have a rear opportunity anyone of us would kill for

Thankkk you, yeah if you look at the 4th attached image, Toyota just sent me a letter telling me that the Supra may be due for a 20,000 mile maintenance, haha. Can you give me an about price on what it would be worth now?

If you are trying to sell it, its worth whatever the current market value is, or whatever people are willing to pay for it. Look around for similar condition cars for sale to get an idea of what to expect as far as what people will pay. With that kind of mileage yours could be considered a collector car and to determine the value, the car would have to be appraised by a professional. To give an idea, a friend has an 89 Supra 5 speed w/ turbo and targa. The car is pretty much mint and it has 96,000 miles with original unopened engine and trans. It appraised at $16,000 a year ago. It doesn't mean he's going to get $16K if he sells it, but it does allow him or a potential buyer to at least get adequate insurance coverage. These cars can be disgustingly under valued by insurance companies.

Thats a nice car, I bought one for 1000 bucks in mint shape aswell, with 25k miles on it, the only thing I put on the car is a 3 inch exhaust, a new intercooler, and a body kit. I plan on keeping the rest of the motor stock, im a fan of stock motors. If I wanna go fast ill jump on my bike :)
