strange whirring sound
 

87 turbo 5 spd, makes a strange whirring sound from the middle/rear of the car while driving, keeps with the speed of the car not the rpms, im thinking possibly u-joints? but sound is mainly when i accelerate, also engine sounds like its screaming at approximately 4500 rpms, oil is good and fresh, as is coolant, im lost on this second problem

Screaming? Does it bogg down? Any power loss?

The whirring sound could be the center drive line support bearing or the diff as well.
The engine "screaming" at 4500RPM? Possibly related to the drive line noise?

the car hasnt ran right since i got it so idk if theres much power loss, thats what im in the midst of fixing, idk how well it should accelerate but it definately doesnt do anything close to plant me in the seat, even when in boost, engine is completely stock


will replace center driveline bearing this weekend probably, and see if that helps, if not im going to do the u-joints, thanks for the help guys


car is being given some very much needed TLC and is responding in a very positive manner, thankfully i found this site or i wouldn't know where to start on half of whats wrong, now im just down to little things
