Default New Supra owner

I just got my first supra it is a 96.5 N/A, plannin on doin a 2JZ-GTE swap in it or possibly a 7M-GTE swap depending on money. Right at this moment I am tryin to get all the things that are on it up and working correctly. I know I have to redo the interior it is shot, main question I have with it is where to find a dash pad mine is cracked and missing pieces! It has the fog lights on it but at the moment they do not work I have replaced the bulbs and tested to see if they get power to the light themselves and they do not, the fuse it good, so I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem. Any help would be a great help.

Welcome to the supra world. I assume you meant 86.5 not 96.5. All of the problems you are experiencing with yours are pretty much standard when you first get one. Its part of the ownership experience to slowly put the whooped, ill maintained car back together. 7M is a great engine but if your going to swap it just go straight to the 2jz, you will likely be happier in the end and it may increase the value of your car (which is hard!).
FYI, the headlamps must be on for the fogs to work. Not sure if you knew that. Otherwise search this forum as well as the internet, there are numerous write ups regarding diagnosing, repairing and modifying the fog lamp system. Good luck.

Don't be discouraged to do a rebuild if thats what you want. I suggested the 2jz swap simply because in the end it will likely cost the same or close (if you plan on doing the 7M right). Salvage yards, craigslist, ebay and the "for sale section" of forums are some of the best places to look for used parts like your dash.
This might help with the fogs.

Here is another nice write up once you get the fogs working again. This gentleman was nice enough to take pics so you can see where everything is at. This mod will allow you to turn only the fogs on.

You will have lots of fun if you replace the dash pad. They suck to get out. But if you do end up replacing it then you may want to consider doing the heater core at the same time.
