upgrading sealed headlights to hid's or composite

Yeah, if you're going to skimp on anything it might as well be your lighting.....

The cheap Chinese enclosures don't focus the light anywhere useful, are a cop magnet, blind other drivers, are not DOT approved (and hence an illegal upgrade in all states), tend to leak.... shall I go on? I won't start on the HID kits themselves (you're better pulling the OEM setup off a high end donor in a salvage yard).

Also keep an eye on your local legislation, there's been a big push in recent years to begin aggressively pursuing owners who make such modifications. I think this is bull$h!t, but it's caused by certain types of people who think it's cool do drive a car that'll cause sunburn if exposed too long.
