coolant symptoms

i had my 89 supra 7mgte (about 2,000 miles) overheat recently in a different way. im new to all the supra terms and parts but the side coolant tank above the intercooler started spraying out of the end hose of this coolant tank near the cap, this caused the car to overheat then cool then overheat again since it was only smoking in the front of the car

once it was done spraying i still had about half of my coolant left (from full), and noticed there arent any leaks or holes

topped off the coolant and let the car run with the heater on

my thoughts are maybe the coolant was too full even though i was running with a full amount of coolant for a little over a month, or possible blown gasket symptoms i hope its nothing too bad

if anyone has experienced this problem or may know the reason and/or solution to the problem any help would be greatly appreciated

thanx to all that have helped in the past, present, and future

and i want to recommend anybody that hasnt clayed there supra with mother's clay kit does an amazing job, smooth and shiny based on experience, thanx again

sounds like either a BHG or a clogged heater core to me.
